Thesis sentences
Thesis sentences give us a summary of the actual topic. It is a road map for the original topic. It gives the readers an impression of what to expect from the rest of the paper. A good hypothesis declaration arouses the interest and persuades the readers to go through the whole topic. It should be capable of arousing interest even in the least interested readers. The literature review must be taken up well in accordance with the declaration. Generally we write this at the end of the opening paragraph.
It should be very specific and should give proper idea of what to expect from the rest of the paper . Vague, dull or insipid sentences don’t create any interest in the reader’s mind. Using too many jargons is also considered as bad habit. We need to be very careful about these few sentences as people from different areas will try to grasp the whole idea about the topic. It should give one main idea, if there is too many idea the reader will become puzzled about the actual content of the topic.
Writing these few sentences is a real headache for the writer. As we have to condense into few sentences the whole idea. But the fact is that how much complicated is the topic we can actually distill it into two or few more sentences. But at the same time writing the statement in an efficient way is a property for the real good writer.
It helps the writer to better organize and develop their thought when they make a clear road map. This map helps them to clearly understand about their destination. They are now sure about where they are heading? The format guidelines are quite crucial.
To generate a declaration we generally follow these paths. First we try for the brainstorming session. In this session we try to create as many options as we can think of.
In first hand some of these options may look ridiculous but we should not ignore them until examining those statements. Next we need to narrow our choices by properly examining each of these options. The options need to be specific, should have some stand and clearly indicate the intent of the original topic . At the last stage we try to eliminate all our choices except one. This choice should have all the properties that we are looking for. A bad choice can make all these hard work into a futile exercise.
Thesis sentences generally have some common characteristics. We can find these characteristics all over the world. First of all it should express one main idea in a specific and lucid manner. Secondly, it should deal with a subject who will be adequately treated in the main assignment. Thirdly, it should deal with a subject in which reasonable people will disagree. Fourthly, it should assert the conclusions about the subject with which we are dealing… And last but not least it should be grammatically correct. And there should not be any spelling error.
