Choosing a dissertation topic may frustrate a student even at the early stage of writing a dissertation. This is because the topic should be something that is interesting, significant, relevant to the readers and you are familiar with it. Let us take a look at some pointers to consider when choosing the topic for your research paper.

In order to make it easier for you in choosing a dissertation topic, try to answer some of these questions:

  • Can you consider the topic to be YOU? This means you should have certain familiarity with the topic. In addition, you should be very interested to tackle it.
  • Can it please the advisor or they also interested for you to take the topic? Your advisor will approve your proposal so you better impress him.
  • Can you find enough resources materials for it? You should know that the topic must be selected if you think there are enough documents to support your thesis statement.
  • Is the topic within your domain of competence? Some students are just forced to take a topic because they can’t think of something they are comfortable with.
  • Is it an original topic? There are probably millions of research papers out there. Your topic must at least stand out from the rest.

    actually , I have already talked with my supervisor about my proposal, ,but my supervisor told me that, my work hasnt been qualified to Ph.D level, as they asked me to put some more theories and choose some model in consumer behaviour context to apply to my research.
